Abdi Ali is an award-winning Interior Architect and Spatial Designer and the Founder

of Ruimte.

He graduated from University of Westminster - Interior Architecture BA with First Class Honours. In between office projects, Abdi returns to the University of

Westminster as guest critic for first, second and third year students and also tutors the next generation of designers as a private tutor

Abdi's first job as a graduate was Product Designer at Opusmagnum, London. He was responsible for producing CAD drawings which were critical to the efficient manufacture of high-quality bespoke furniture and conveyed design solutions to the client, the workshop and the sub-contractors through clear, concise technical drawings. He developed rational and creative solutions to the design brief, taking into account aesthetic, structural and economic factors.

Prior to setting up Ruimte Design, Abdi worked as a senior designer at Linear London

Another major role was rebranding of the company from original Linear Tiles to Linear London. Abdi was responsible for multiple full design and management projects, as well as hiring new staff and interns to delegate projects.
